Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Cam Radar processes, why it is needed, where it is stored, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Effective and last updated: August 17, 2026Your camera streams, camera passwords and snapshots are not uploaded to Cam Radar servers. Camera connections are local or directed to the address you configure. Account information and crash diagnostics are processed by Firebase services so sign-in works and app failures can be fixed. Cam Radar does not sell personal data and does not show ads.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Cam Radar applications, website and related support services. Cam Radar ("we," "us") is responsible for the processing described here. This policy does not govern your camera manufacturer, network provider, Apple, Google, or websites they operate.
2. Data we process
Account and authentication data
If you sign in with Google or Apple, Firebase Authentication processes an account identifier, email address, display name, profile image URL, authentication provider and authentication tokens. Apple may provide a relay email address. Cam Radar does not receive your Google or Apple password.
Crash and diagnostic data
Firebase Crashlytics automatically processes crash stack traces, exception information, relevant application state, app version, device model, operating system, memory and disk state, timestamps, installation identifiers and related diagnostic metadata. This information is used only to diagnose reliability and security problems.
Camera and local-network data
The app processes local-network addresses and ONVIF discovery responses to find cameras. Camera names, device and stream URLs, usernames, display order and settings are stored locally on your device. Camera passwords are stored through the operating system's protected credential storage. Camera snapshots may be cached in the app's local support directory.
Live camera audio and video are retrieved directly from the camera or stream address you configure. We do not operate a cloud video relay and do not collect or store your live feeds, saved camera passwords or locally cached snapshots on Cam Radar servers.
Support communications
If you contact support or request deletion, we process the email address, message, attachments and technical information you choose to provide so we can respond and keep a record of the request.
Website data
This static website does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics. A hosting provider may process standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and timestamp for security and delivery.
3. How and why data is used
- App functionality: authenticate users, remember locally configured cameras and display streams.
- Account management: maintain sign-in sessions and respond to account requests.
- Reliability and security: investigate crashes, prevent abuse and improve stability.
- Support: answer questions and resolve technical problems.
- Legal compliance: establish, exercise or defend legal claims and meet applicable obligations.
Where applicable, processing is based on performance of the service requested, legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable app, consent where required, and compliance with law.
4. Service providers and disclosures
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Authentication | Account creation and sign-in | Account ID, email, display name, profile URL, provider and tokens |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting and stability | Crash logs, diagnostics, app and device information, installation identifiers |
| Google Sign-In | Optional authentication | Information authorized through the Google sign-in prompt |
| Sign in with Apple | Optional authentication | Information authorized through the Apple sign-in prompt |
| Website/email hosting providers | Website delivery and support | Server logs and communications |
Providers act under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal data and do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
- Firebase account: retained while your account is active and deleted following a verified deletion request, unless law requires limited retention.
- Crashlytics: Firebase states that crash traces and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal begins.
- Local camera data: remains on your device until you remove a camera, clear app data or uninstall the app. Uninstall behavior can depend on device backup settings.
- Support records: normally retained for up to 24 months after resolution, or longer when needed for security or legal obligations.
- Deletion requests: verification records may be retained as needed to show the request was completed.
When data is deleted, removal from active systems may take time and residual encrypted backups may persist temporarily until routine rotation.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Delete account or dataEmail privacy teamTo revoke Google or Apple sign-in access, use the connected-app controls in your Google or Apple account. Removing authorization there does not automatically delete the Cam Radar Firebase account; use the deletion process as well.
7. Security
Cam Radar uses operating-system protected storage for camera passwords, HTTPS for supported service-provider traffic, access controls and data minimization. Local cameras sometimes use self-signed certificates or unencrypted RTSP. The security of those connections depends on your camera and network configuration. Keep firmware current, use strong unique credentials, isolate cameras where appropriate and avoid exposing camera ports directly to the public internet.
No security control eliminates all risk. Contact us promptly if you believe your Cam Radar account or data has been compromised.
8. International processing
Providers such as Google and Apple may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or other lawful mechanisms.
9. Children
Cam Radar is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided account data should contact us for deletion.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a material change requires it.
